I have this small (< 6mm diam.) Peziza, without stipe, growing in a slope of a path, inside a "Botanical Garden" in Portugal. I have a previous collection of P. apiculata but I think this one does not fit.
Spores measurement (without "apicula"): (19.2) 20.0 - 22.8 (24.1) x (8.0) 8.4 - 9.6 (10.2) µm; Q = (2.1) 2.2 - 2.5 (2.8) ; N = 77; Me = 21.3 x 9.1 µm ; Qe = 2.4
Asci with croziers, truncate apex and amyloid in all the surface.
Thank you in advance.

No objection to name this collection P. apiculata. Beautiful pictures as usual ;-)

Re : Peziza gr apiculata 111115 27
Thank you Nico
What a variable species!!!! I had this another collection like P. apiculata (11/07/2014), with differente spores, ornamentation and apicules; and this spores measures (including apicules):
(22.4) 23.7 - 27.3 (28.9) x (7.8) 8.8 - 10.6 (12.2) µm
Q = (2.1) 2.4 - 2.9 (3.2) ; N = 85
Me = 25.3 x 9.7 µm ; Qe = 2.6
All spores of this collection of 2014 had very regular apicules shape and size. But actual collection 2015 has very irregular apicules shape and size.
Is there any clear character to separate P. apiculata from obtusapiculata, polarispinosa, vagneri, thozetii ...?
Thanks again.

Hi Andreas
You are talking about the second one, aren't you? So, first one is P. apiculata, second one is P. obtusapiculata.
Any actual paper about this group?
Danke.

Yes, Andreas is right. Your second collection is P. obtusapiculata. In my opinion, greenish tinges are always present on specimens of the latter, especially in young specimens.

Hallo Andreas,
hast du von P. vagneri auch so eine Sporenzeichnung?
Gruss

Hallo Ueli,
nee, tut mir leid, P. wagneri kenne ich leider nicht, auch die anderen apiculaten Arten nicht.
beste Grüße
Andreas
