Mollisia aff. hydrophila (Phragmites)
Viktorie Halasu, 07-01-2022 09:24
Viktorie HalasuHello,

last year I've collected a milky greyish-white Mollisia on Phragmites stalks and cannot find a name for it.
KOH negative, no crystals, excipulum very light-colored, marginal cells inconspicuous. Asci H+, IKI+b.
Spores slightly clavate, * (8.9)9.2-11.1(12.1) × (2.1)2.2-2.6(3) um, X = 10 × 2.5 um, Q = 3.7-4.1-4.4.

The closest I've found is Zotto's "palustris-hydrophila with subiculum", could it fit? I'm not sure whether there was a well developed subiculum or not, haven't noted it.
Olomouc, Cernovirske slatiniste, Phragmites stand on a wet meadow, leg. 4. VI. 2021.

Thank you for any advice.
Viktorie

Hi Viktorie

I fear I cannot answer this. M. palustris seems to me a good rough match. I would appreciate if Andreas would tell us about his knowledge, he studied a lot of Velenovsky types.

Hello Zotto,

thank you, I'll file it under "cf palustris" for now.
I found another misplaced collection from the same day, with macro photo, more wet place (muddy forest path with Iris pseudacorus, tall sedges and Phragmites), seems to be the same taxon.
