Is Monilinia padi specific to this host? Or could it be another species of Monilinia?
There are no records of M. padi on the UK FRDBI (or on NBN).
Is anyone aware of any work outlining host specificity of Monilinia that might help here (most appears to be on fruit).?
As always, any thoughts would be very much appreciated.

I cannot interpret your microphoto. Is it in water? Why you do not use oil immersion do better show these 10-13 µm large bodies?

Thanks for looking, Zotto. The slide is dry mounted, NOT in water (which tends to break the conidial chains characteristic of Monilinia). Collector does not have access to 100x oil immersion and is showing the conidia at his highest magnification.
