JEAN CABALIONBonjour, Qui peut me renseigner sur ce Podostroma
I am struggling with this Acanthostigma(?) species.
(Sánchez, Romina & Miller, Andrew & Bianchinotti, María. (2012). A new species of Acanthostigma (Tubeufiaceae, Dothideomycetes) from the southern hemisphere. Mycologia. 104. 223-31. 10.3852/11-105.)
Ecology: Decayed Fagus deadwood
Macro:
Perithecia globose with a diameter of about 300-400 µm, brown, covered with dark brown setae.
Micro:
Asci: 130-150 (-200) x 20-35 µm
Spores: Hyaline, nearly symmetric, 55-64 x 8-8.5 µm, rather constant in size, strictly(?) 9-septate, with many small droplets inside, ends obtuse.
Perithecial wall: Composed of light yellowish-brown, globose to angular, thinwalled cells with a diameter of about 10-18 µm.
Setae: Dark brown, thickwalled, aseptate, pointed, 35-75 µm in length and a basal diameter of 5-6 µm.
Any suggestions are welcome!
best wishes and many thanks,
Stefan
some years ago I studied two very similar collections which we called Acanthostigma cf. septoconstrictum because that appeared to be the closest species.
Both collections grew on deciduous wood and had ascospores measuring 44–66 x (5)6–8.5(9) µm, with 7–9 constricted septa and 8-spored asci up to 150 x 20 µm. The setae were 50–105 µm long and 5–8 µm wide.
Coll. 1: 18.4.2011, decayed, lying stem of Populus nigra, leg. & det. Torsten Richter.
