Hi Joseba,
for me the only third photo is an Ascobolus, however, the following micros show no spores from this species. The microphotos with the asci belong to the first both photos (Calycina or similar ?), the round spores and these to the fourth picture are foreign spores.

I was also a little bit bewildered by this thread - and I am more happy after having read Peters answer :-)


I agree with Peter: only picture 3 is an Ascobolus. Whatever the other pictures could be (Phaeoheolotium, Calycellina, ....) is a question that perhaps Zotto can answer?

Hols Peter y Lothar...    yo tambien estoy sorprendido.... todas las fotos macro son de los mismos ejemplares que estan en un trozo de madera de 2 cm. de largo,  todas juntas.

Es posible que haya mas de una especie  junta en el mismo sitio???

No he visto nunguna  espora tipica de Ascobolus

He hecho  6 nuevas pruebas con Asconas en diferente grado de maduración  y he encontrado  otro tipo de esporas mas de acuerdo con Phaeihelotium??

A ver que os parece
