Geoglossum subumbratile?
Martzuku Eleni, 12-02-2019 15:49
In decaying leaves of castanea and olive tree and in herdera.
About 10 cm, euamyloid asci tips, Paraphyses with curved terminal cells, terminal cell = 30-40 ?m.
Asci: (180) 181.7 - 202.4 (212.2) µm.
Spores (from sporeprint) with 7 septa (there were also a 10% with none septum): (74.3) 79.4 - 89.8 (91.7) × (86.1) 86.14 - 89.86 (89.9) µm.

Re : Geoglossum subumbratile?

I fear nobody can tell you which earth tongue this is. Your microscope foto shows nothing for me, no paraphyses (where?).

Even with accurate microscopy it is far from being easy to determine earth tongues, especially because a lot of new species have been described (e.g. subumbratile which I do not know).

So - without better documentation it is hopeless. I don`t think somebody else tells something different.

Best regards, Lothar

Re : Geoglossum subumbratile?
Thanks.
I used the Arauso-Inglesias key, that's what I have...
(The photo is not good, but you can see the curved terminal cell of a paraphysis...)

Re : Geoglossum subumbratile?
One of the main differences between pseudo/sub/umbratile are in the paraphyses. I would suggest a more in depth look at those and better defined photos.
