Big spored Hyalopeziza?
Marja Pennanen, 26-06-2019 08:36
Hello forum,

these about 0,1-0,2 mm wide ascos grow on Prunus padus leaves and are a bit red coloured.

The spores are guite big 12-18x2,5-3.

The asci are 40-50x7-8.

The hairs are about 15-40x3-5 and have a basal lumen and seemed to keep their shape in KOH.

I had no luck in determination. Any ideas of the species?

Hi Marja, did you compare Hyalopeziza raripila and Naevia diaphana? They both have a red reacting apical ring and stand in the Calloriaceae in my Iridinea folder.

Dear Zotto,

I naturally checked H. raripila from Raitviir's opus and this had too big spores anf did not grow on dead herbaceous stems. But I suppose, that H. raripila will be my determination now.

Thank you : Marja

Yes, spore width exludes diaphana.
