A friend of mine sent me a collection on decorticated branch of Quercus rubra.
Ascomata superficial, crowded, +/- globose, 0,3-0,4(0,45) mm diam., rugose, with umbilicate ostiolum, black.?
Asci bitunicate, cyl-clav., with tapering stalk, 8-sp., sp. 2-ser., 102-112x10-11,5 µm, arising from croziers.
Spores fusiform with pointed ends, smooth, first hyaline, 1-septate and with 3(4) axially aligned LB's per cell, finally pale greyish brown ,3-septate and eguttulate, strongly constricted at the median septum, 21,5-26x4,5-6 µm.
Interascal filaments inconspicuous, septate.
?Who can help me? Thanks in advance.
Bernard

Re : Dothideomycetes
Hi,
The spores made me think from the very beginning on those of Pseudotrichia minor Munk, while the ascomata are very Cucurbitaria-like.
I only know P. minor as an immersed parasite on Amphiporthe leiphaemia.
What is your opinion on my guess?
Bernard
