Bonjour à tous,
Sur branche morte de Carpinus encore attachée à l'arbre, en forêt humide. Haute-Saône (70), 29/05/2024.
Apothécies de 1-4 mm de diamètre, cupuliformes, érumpantes, stipitées, se refermant par temps sec. Hyménium jaunâtre. Surface externe finement fibrilleuse, brune. Stipe dans le prolongement de la coupe, concolore. Espèce xérotolérante.
Ascospores : 6,8-8 x 1,2-1,5 µm, allantoïdes, hyalines, guttulées, lisses.
Asques : 46-54 x 4,4-5,3 µm, cylindriques, octosporés, à appareil apical non amyloïde, avec crochet.
Paraphyses : cylindriques, hyalines, avec des guttules jaunes, septées, larges de 2-3,4 µm.
Excipulum médullaire de textura intricata à cellules hyalines.
Excipulum ectal de textura prismatica à cellules brunes.
L'aspect macroscopique me dirigeait vers le complexe Rutstroemia tiliacea mais les spores sont minuscules. La microscopie correspond assez bien à Encoelia glaberrima, mais je suis surpris par l'aspect macroscopique, les apothécies régulièrement cupuliformes et à hyménium non plissé. L'aspect macroscopique indiquerait des apothécies immatures alors qu'ici les spores éjectées sont abondantes.

My first idea was young Encoelia glaberrima, and maybe it is. The excipulum I am a bit surprized, though. Now I see you considered the same species. Surely E. glaberrima starts with round cupulate apos, I think.
I see crystals at the margin, these might be unknown in the species.

Merci Zotto pour ton message. J'aimerais faire séquencer ma récolte. Sais-tu s'il existe des séquences de Encoelia glaberrima ? Je n'en ai pas vu dans Genbank.

Actually there exist 3 sequences in UNITE (UDB0778482 from Serbia, UDB0778478 and UDB0778480 from Ukraine). This is a pity that they are not in GB.
When I try BLAST in GB I get Rutstroemia tiliacea with 95%. I guess the fungus is not an Encoelia, which is supported by its prismatic excipulum.

In the analysis of Pärtel et al. 2016 we have it as a typical Rutstroemia.
