Asci 8-spored, without croziers, IKI+(bb). Paraphyses cylindrical, full of VBs. Spores scutuloid, without setulae, measuring 22.2 - 32.5 × 5.2 - 5.6 µm.
With some hesitation, I had labelled this as H. scutula. But now I've just become aware of the species H. suspectus, which I believe this might fit. Would you agree? And does H. scutula even ever grow on Poeaceae?

Hi, I can see the photo could give that impression. But I'm fairly sure at least most of the substrate was a grass of some kind. Here's a few extra pics that might clarify the issue a bit.

If the substrate is grass, then that's fine with H. suspectus I think.
H. scutula I know only from herbaceous stems.

I agree, I only think that the concept of H. suspectus is a bit suspect, because the differences to H. scutula are difficile. Besides, H. scutula is not very clear from existing DNA, this group requires a lot of research.
