anamorph on Carpinus
Lothar Krieglsteiner, 13-12-2016 11:55
Lothar Krieglsteiner

In the last week I found this anamorph twice, on twigs and logs of Carpinus, in the National Park of Eifel in Germany. In both cases Melogramma campylosporum was growing in the vicinity.

I think this anamorph with moist appearance as slimy black dots is quite remarkable and so I hope to get a determination her.

Who can help?

Best regards from Lothar

I agree this is Cheirospora botryospora.  You might want to look around for a phialidic synanamorph or better yet a mollisioid teleomorph on the specimen over time; a recent study placed it around Mollisia.

Re : anamorph on Carpinus

Hallo Lothar,
