Hi. I'm looking for the description of Anisomerid
Discomycete with Algae

Dear Friends,a "lichen-colleague" did send me a dried specimen that is a riddle to me. The envelope contained a rotten piece of coniferous wood covered on one side with lots of red-brown pustules under a green film of algae. This film did not cover the entire surface and I took a sample from such a pustule in a macroscopical algae-free area after rehydration. These pustules turned out to be cushion shaped ascomata of 0.2-0.5 mm in dm, still surrounded with a hyaline gelatinous layer containing cells of algae, but none were visible inside the excipulum. Thus the fungus is probably not lichenized.
The Asci are thickwalled but to my oppinion unitunicate without apical apparatus, just bursting at the top for spore release and with negative iodine reaction. The spores are arranged in eight, uniseriat, globose, hyaline with a verrucose perisporium when mature, typically 8 µm in dm.
I will add some pictures.
Any suggestions are wellcome.
Best regards
Martin
