Remarque | Description: Ap. 3-5 mm diam.. disc light rose-orange. Asci *450-500 x 25-28 µm, IKI-, dome slightly developed, very slightly oblique, stipe long, flexuous, thick-walled, no croziers. Sp. *24-34(-36) x 16-17.5 µm, -> 19-25 µm wide, no germination even in very senescent apos, apparently multinucleate (nuclei c. 2 µm diam). Paraph. with many refr. hyal. VBs in terminal cell, lower part with very scattered minute peripheral orange LBs. Ectexc. on flanks of rather isodiametrical cells, rather thin. - S. chudei is a tropical to subtropical species which has smaller spores in Pfister´s article on Kompsoscypha, Mem. NY Bot. Garden 49: 339-343 (1989): 21-26 or 23-27 x 12-17 µm. Pfister recognizes 3 further species which are, however, all rather similar, differing from Sarcoscypha in much smaller apothecia and an ectal excipulum of t. globulosa. |
