Lachnum or Dasyscyphella?
Pavel Jiracek, 16-03-2025 19:17
Another find on a piece of Quercus Wood in Scotland. The spores were 7-9  x 1.5-2 microns and there was a bit of brown discoloration on some of the fruit bodies. Some of the hairs have smooth tops, some don't.
Any advice would be greatly appreciated, thanks.

Re : Lachnum or Dasyscyphella?
Hi Pavel,
It seems that the tip of marginal hairs are smooth , at least the last cell.

As seen very often on the underside of Quercus logs , Dasyscyphella nivea could be the species you have collected .

Amitiés. Michel

Re : Lachnum or Dasyscyphella?
I suspected this species but was not sure. I also dismissed L.virgeneum since there doesn't seem to be any lanceolate paraphyses.
Thanks Michel
Best wishes Pavel
