Cosmospora from rhizomorphs of Armillaria mellea s.s.
Piotr Perz, 03-04-2022 14:15
Hello,

as far I remember, many fungicolous species of Cosmospora are host specific.
There is a known name for Cosmospora parasiting on rhizomorphs of Armillaria mellea s.str.?

Cheers,
Peter

Re : Cosmospora from rhizomorphs of Armillaria mellea s.s.
Hello Piotr,
cosmospora-like nectriaceae are often host specific but some species are plurivorous, making identification fairly tricky without a thorough morphological study, culture characteristics and phylogenetic data.
That said, I am not aware of reports of such fungi on rhizomorphs of Armillaria, which is a most unusual substrate for them.
Christian's expertise is unfortunately greatly missing.

Cheers,
Jacques
